Message from the Designer: Suzanne Karlson
Making greetings has been a long time passion for me. After studying Graphic Design at Fashion Institute of Technology and graduating with a BFA from New York Institute of Technology, I entered the corporate design world. Unexpectedly, I returned to my true passion… art on paper.
The reawakening came in 1998 while visiting the Illuminated Manuscripts of The Renaissance exhibit at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. The jewel-like colors, attention to detail and glow of gold leaf alive in these luminous miniature paintings inspired me to create Lumia.
